Fortinet

Fortinet is one of the top providers of cybersecurity solutions at an enterprise level. They are industry leaders in combining physical firewalls and cutting edge software to deliver cybersecurity solutions to all. I work on the FortiOS team that creates the GUI for network admins and engineers to provision complex network setups.
Note: my work at Fortinet is ongoing and many projects are still in development and have not been released yet. As such I am only able to share a limited amount of work.
After starting at Fortinet I was able to quickly contribute to the team and help improve the design process. I introduced the use of Abstract to help with collaboration between designers and to also help with developer hand off and decision tracking. By adding new processes in, we were able to easily hire new designers and onboard them with ease. This also helped create a review process for designs and automatically create a changelog.
Another contribution I made to the team was to create a Sketch library with our design system in place. Although time consuming at first, this step has greatly improved the efficiency of the design team and helped us collaborate better with the dev teams.
In addition to improves the overall design process, I also advocated for frequent use of user testing and helped introduce techniques that we could use, especially in a remote setting. I helped to create user research guidelines that helped us conduct remote user studies and make them as effective as possible.
With certain complex projects it was crucial to create user personas. Below is an examples of user personas I created through surveys and user interviews to help with a new feature that is being added to FortiOS.

Below are some examples of how I created complex sketch libraries with reusable components. This step greatly increased the efficiency of our UX team.

Aside from working on the design system and web app, I also helped to improve the designs for the iOS app.
